Albatross
Diomedea exulans
About
The wandering albatross has the largest wingspan of any living bird — up to 3.5 meters. These ocean wanderers spend most of their lives in flight over the Southern Ocean, returning to land only to breed.
Their Eggs
A single large white egg with faint reddish-brown spots, laid in a mound nest of mud and vegetation on remote sub-Antarctic islands.

Fun Fact
Albatross pairs mate for life and take turns incubating their single egg in shifts lasting up to 3 weeks. The breeding cycle is so long (over a year from egg to fledgling) that they only breed every other year.
