About
Australia's largest native bird and the second-largest living bird after the ostrich. Emus are flightless, curious, and famously won a war against the Australian military in 1932 (the Great Emu War). The emus won.
Their Eggs
Stunning dark green to nearly black eggs with a textured, granulated shell surface. The color comes from biliverdin pigment deposited in the outer shell layers.

The male emu handles all incubation duties. He sits on the nest for 56 days straight, barely eating or drinking, and loses up to a third of his body weight in the process.
