## Why It Works
Egg white has astringent properties — the protein film it forms as it dries tightens pores and absorbs excess oil from the skin's surface. Honey is hygroscopic (draws moisture from the air) and contains hydrogen peroxide and other antimicrobial compounds, particularly in raw, unprocessed forms. For oily skin, this combination hits two problems at once: excess sebum and the bacteria that oily skin environments tend to encourage. The honey also prevents the mask from being too drying, which is what plain egg white can do.
## How to Do It
1. Crack an egg and separate the white into a small bowl.
2. Add 1 teaspoon of raw honey. Stir to combine.
3. Wash your face and pat dry.
4. Apply the mixture to your T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) or full face using clean fingers or a brush.
5. Leave for 15 minutes.
6. Rinse thoroughly with warm water, then splash with cold water to help close pores.
7. Pat dry and apply a light, oil-free moisturizer.
## Pro Tips
- If you're sensitive to bee products, skip this one — honey allergies are real.
- Adding a few drops of tea tree oil to this mask increases the antibacterial effect for acne-prone skin.
- Apply the mask in a thin, even layer. Thick application takes longer to dry and is harder to rinse completely.
## When to Use This
One to two times per week as part of an oily skin regimen. Works well the evening before a day when you want particularly clear, matte skin. Not for dry skin types — the astringent effect will leave dry skin feeling tight and uncomfortable.
